This moment

I've been doing a lot of thinking and rearranging of things in my head.  Crafting priorities have shifted and my workspace needed a shift too.  For the one day it is immaculate, I took a photo to show you all!

My sewing machine is temporarily put away as I am focusing more on writing, photography and crocheting... well, those three mostly anyway.  Here's a sneak peek.  If you click on the photo, it will blow up larger.

This is my corner of the craft room at this moment.

Way in the back

In the back of the garden by the corner of the shed,
he spotted a wee striped green ball and turned his head.

He ran running and yelling at the top of his lungs!
The fruit we've been waiting for had finally sprung!

I came with him quickly, little brother in tow.
We three bent down close to oooh and aah and say hello!
Grow grow wee watermelon, we've been hoping you'd show!

Crafting for the holidays

Please don't shoot me or send mental hate darts my way when reading the title... I've actually been holiday crafting for the past month or so whenever I have a spare moment.  I usually don't post completed items so that my family members are surprised, but I'm quite chuffed with this project.

Pattern and Yarn Info:  This is a free pattern called the Elise Shawl by Evan Plevinski.  The yarn is Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in the Lichen colorway.  Can you say yummy?  I LOVE this yarn!

Elise Shawl Progress

Since I have set the ambitious goal of (current known queued items) 2 sweaters, 2 afghans, 2 shawls, wee sewn project bags, 2 hat/cowl sets and some handmade stamps and necklaces, I have to keep up the pace!  Handmade holidays are a labor of love and completely worth it for me personally.

Is anyone else crafting yet?

Imagining

A blue, kind of bowl-ish container... what can it be?

Mom look!  I can spin myself dizzy!  This is a spinning yourself silly ride Mom!  SPIN SPIN SPIN!!!

I'm a turtle.  This is my shell Momma, watch me!
Big giggles and goofy remarks about a blue-shelled turtle ensue!

I'm a robot!  (makes beep    bop    boop noises)
Zooming around the lawn with special effects... his  brother laughing and following closely behind.
Watch me!  See!  Look!  Look what I can do!

We've had our Bilibo for forever it seems.  A sorting container.  A tunnel for trains.  It is nothing and everything.  It is whatever you want it to be.

I want it to be a fun and relaxing summer afternoon thing.  And it's that too.

Happy Weekend.

It's been a bit of a week...

I know it's been quiet here, but I thought I'd pop in with a few photos.  We have been having a great crafty, skills learning, library-going, mud-making, music listening summer.  A few things from the past week include...

Crocheting

Legoing

Candy-making
I hope to get this marshmallow recipe up this weekend.  I've been prepping for Camp GetAway and the fabulous s'mores making that goes on while on a relaxing retreat such as theirs.  These marshmallows and a soon-to-be-posted graham cracker recipe are helping me to prepare to get away at camp!  :-)  My kids LOVE this kind of baking and candy-making "research" and are always there to lend a helping hand!
